Welcome To Horse Tales

Horse Tales is the first book to be published by Harlin House Publishers.

Most of the tales are of a light hearted nature, some are clearly jokes, some have the clear ring of truth, some need to be taken with a pinch of salt. But isn’t it often the seasoned dish which is the tastiest?

Horse Tales is a great buy for anyone young or old who likes to laugh and has an interest in horses, people or the past.

As a tribute to the farming community and the farming folk who have told many of the tales, twenty-five pence from each copy of Horse Tales sold will be donated to The Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution.

Horse Tales is available from bookshops ISBN 978-0-9560128-0-7 price £12.99 or a signed copy is available by post direct from the publishers @ £10 + £2 p&p for UK - To order click HERE

  • Farmer and country man Harry Sear has been collecting humorous stories, jokes and anecdotes, from the past age of working horses, for over 20 years. The tales come from Harry's county of Bedfordshire and as far apart as Cornwall and Northumberland.

Now Harry has put the stories together with 28 brilliant witty illustrations by talented illustrator Michael Avery, and produced Horse Tales. The foreword is especially written by Edward Kelsey who plays Joe Grundy in BBC Radio 4's The Archers, (visit www.thearchers.co.uk for more information). The book is a delightful and entertaining blend of nostalgia, information and humour.
